    The major of applied chemistry was founded in 2009, with chemistry analysis specialty.    The major has Institute of Materials Surface New Technology and its innovation team. At present, there are 6 laboratories available for applied chemistry major, college experimental center, instrument analysis laboratory, chemical analysis laboratory, inorganic chemistry laboratory, organic chemistry laboratory, physical chemistry laboratory. The area of laboratories is 1600m2. The experiment equipments have more than 1000 sets, including liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, scanning electron microscope, X ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet visible spectrophotometer, thermogravimetric analyzer etc. The asset of instruments and equipments is mare than 5 million Yuan. The major has many campus training centers including Heilongjiang Quality Supervision and Testing Institute, Harbin Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Institute and Engineering Training Center, etc. The obvious advantages have formed in the areas of Analysis of product quality inspection and Preparation of fine chemical products. The distinguished features have formed in the aspects of training higher applied technological talents.

Introduction to the Materials Chemistry Major of College of Materials and Chemical Engineering

The Materials Chemistry major was founded in 2001, and started to enroll students in 2003. The major is devoted to training of applied and advanced engineering talent with all-round development in moral, intelligence, physique, art and other aspects, and with solid foundation, wide knowledge, strong practical ability, comprehensive high quality and innovative spirits. Students can obtain good cultural quality, professional quality and engineering quality through the study of professional theoretical knowledge and the training of engineering ability upon graduation. Students can master the relationship between compositions, structure, properties of polymer materials and master the processing principle and technology of polymer materials and other basic theory and professional knowledge. Students can acquire theoretical knowledge foundation and practical ability for scientific research, development and application, production and management in the fields of materials design, processing design, materials preparation and modification, performance testing, and create new products. Students can become comprehensive engineering technical personnel with engineering cultural literacy and occupational moral.

The major has a materials science and engineering experiment center, a university chemical experiment center, a university engineering and technology R & D center, and a special cold coatings in new technology research and development center. There are eight laboratories including inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, material analysis, polymer materials, etc. The area of laboratories is about 800m2. Introduction to the Functional Materials Major of College of Materials and Chemical Engineering

The major of Functional Materials was founded in 2010.The major has always kept in the ideas of innovation and development, adapted to the economic construction and social development needs, reflected the "application-type" professional training characteristics, faced to the pharmaceutical, chemical engineering, petrochemical, environmental, commercial inspection, light industry, biological engineering, metal metallurgy, machinery manufacturing, medical equipment and health care products related enterprises , institutions engaged in biological materials and other industries, which cultivated the students with occupation morality, healthy in body and mind. The graduates can work in the pharmaceutical engineering, medical apparatus and instruments, and advanced functional materials technology. The application-oriented engineering talents with innovative spirit are engaged in preparation, material processing, process design, molding, testing, production and management work.

The major has Institute of Surface Engineering Technology, Advanced Alloy Materials Engineering, Technology Science and Technology Innovation Team. At present, there are more than ten laboratories including material analysis, material performance, polymer materials, etc. The laboratories area is 800 m2.The experiment equipments have more than 1000 sets, including scanning electron microscope, X ray diffraction, liquid chromatography. The asset of instruments and equipments is more than 3 million Yuan. The major has three Campus Training Centers including the Engineering Training Center, etc. Specialty will focus on school of Materials Science and Engineering in the cultivation of the higher applied technology talents under the support of characteristics gradually formed.

The graduates can work in the field of the metal materials and engineering, welding technology and engineering, and heat treatment technology and production. Introduction to Composite Materials and Engineering Major of College of Materials and Chemical Engineering

The major of Composite Materials and Engineering was approved by the Ministry of National Education in 2010. It is a multidisciplinary cross and potential developing major. The main training aim of the major is to enhance the applying ability of the students. After graduation, students can work in automobile, building, electronic, chemical, information and communication industry, etc. The student should have the basic theory, professional knowledge and practical skills for Composite Materials and Engineering major and should be able to adapt to the high-technology development of modern material science. The talents of Composite Materials and Engineering should be moral, health and spirit of innovation who can be engaged in design, product, research, analysis, test, evaluate, management etc. in composite materials products.

Composite Materials and Engineering major have “Engineering Application of Composite Materials” which is key laboratory of Heilongjiang Institute of Technology and the other thirteen laboratories, such as analysis of materials, metal materials, polymer materials, heat treatment of metals, welding and surface technology laboratories, etc. The laboratories area is 1500 m2, the asset of instruments and equipments is more than 5 million Yuan.
