Introduction

This degree programme combines the core elements of electronic engineering with those of computer science, to equip graduates with a detailed knowledge of both hardware and software development.

What ability students will attain?

By the time of graduation,students should attain:

(a) An ability to apply knowledge of computing and mathematics appropriate to the discipline

(b) An ability to analyze a problem, and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution

(c) An ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs

What are students career prospects?

Typically, graduates of this degree are employed in computer-equipment manufacturers, project consultancies, universities and research institutions. The quantitative and transferable skills you will acquire during students studies, mean that you could also pursue a career in a non-technical profession, such as banking, accountancy, management or law. The program also provides a foundation for further graduate level study in engineering and computer science.
