President of Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Finland Visited HIJIT

Recently, Xue Meijiao, Program Director of North Karelia Committee, Finland and Petri Raivo, President of Karelia University of Applied Science paid a visit to HIT. Vice President Bai Yu had a meeting with the guests. Prof. Ye Shujiang, Director of Academic Affairs, and Meng Zhongyuan, Director of International Cooperation and Exchanges attended the meeting.

     The presidents gave a general introduction of the two universities, and discussed main problems challenging the applied science universities, such as the development issue, different ways from the academic comprehensive universities. President  Raivo talked about the faculty training in applied science universities and the detailed measure in cooperation between college and enterprises. The two universities will cooperate in the following aspects: joint program in new majors, such as new energy and urgently-needed  subjects, faculty training and overseas practice bases.

     The meeting is not only an inter-college exchange, but also a part of area cooperation strategy, which presents a provincial cooperation between Heilongjiang Province and  North Karelia Area.
